too far away and that line where the ground meets the wall looks like it is cutting her in half at the waist, which is kinda funny. the angle makes her feet look huge and her head look small, which would be ok if that was what you were going for. i think my overall reaction is "blah" but i tend to think that about most shots of people anyway.

All spot on comments. I wanted one shot of her with rollerblades to give the other shots a reference point. . . but this isn't as great as it could have been. I just shot her where she flopped down.

let me know what they say about those weird shadows. it's not the flash, i tested it. no idea what it could be, maybe something behind the lens?

ALL CLOSE-UPS, ALL THE TIME.

Like I said over at Flickr - it IS the flash. YOu were totally right. Not sure how, but it doesn't do that w/out flash. Nice call!

i like it as it is actually especially as the floor/wall horizontal is not if you get my drift:)

I get your drift. She was moving around more than it appears here. I should have caught her blades better. . .the downfall of the SX70 is the inability to crop accurately the closer you get.

what can you do to improve the shot? use a 680. get real close up on the face. that's what.
^
Dude. My 690 is BACK IN A BOX and going for a repair to fix what they fucked up when fixing it. Ugh. I bow to the 680 - I've already told you this you salt-in-wound- pouring bastard!!!

As for the close-ups, did you not see the others? How could I resist the camo shorts with blades + diagonal spaces shot?
