You know, I was talking with Mr. Robert White,
and he said me that the rsw45 was the one for me,
very light, cheap, but after I realised that It has
limited movements...I mean just for architecture is
good, but I also shot a lot of street portrait, so I contacted directly
Mr. Hirumi from ebony and he said me that the 45s was the right one.
We checked together the capabilities of focus that I need, but
the problem was that to have a new ebony I had to wait 4 months..
So I found one on ebay that had the bellow lenght enough to give
the possibility to come close enough to portrait people and I bought it

I'm a studio photographer (most furniture...big spaces...location)
and always used Sinar, Cambo etc..so this time I need a
more light camera and after I month of research,
I discovered ebony and I felt in love with it...!

I have a Schneider super-angulon xl 5.6/58mm mc
rodenstock grandagon-n 4,5/90mm 105°
Schneider 5,6/180mm apo

I plan to buy the xl 72mm

Robert White is where mine came from, nearly every camera I've bought has come from him. I would love the 45s but couldn't quite afford it, I was tempted when i saw yours on ebay, so glad I didn't bid against you. Mine is quite limited but with a 150mm I find I can get quite close for portraits, I would love the swing though.
Nice set of lenses you have, the 180 5.6 has great dof, I used to work with a photographer who loves that lens I have just sold my 90mm super angulon as never really used it. I have the Nikon 150mm 5.6 w as my only modern lens and then loads of old lenses, my current favourite is what this is shot with which is a 1912 Zeiss Tessar, its incredibly sharp but darkens and softens slightly towards the edges, something I really like.
Looking forward to seeing the results from your new camera, I'm sure once you've started using it you'll never put it down.

eh..eh..!

you know, I just bought an Ebony 45s
last week on ebay...I'm still waiting for it
and can't resist to test it...

I had always used 4x5 camera (most on studio), but
this time I want to try a more light camera for
outdoor shot...

let you know...

From UK? ebay £1400? I was watching one. Your very lucky mine is slightly limited on movements, but yours has swing as well. Hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I had a sinar before and could never carry it anywhere. The Ebonys are great because there so portable, what lenses?

Stunning shot, Hugh! I like your most recent shots with the new lens. Even given the clarity of it, you've managed to not lose the softer qualities of your photographic style.

Thank you :)

just a bit.... (was involved :o)

as i said before, i just can't resist sometimes. we had a nice flat in Kaunas, Lithuania, and the bathroom had a huge round bathtub and mirror ceiling. i couldn't resist :o) tried to take pictures with propack and 330, wasted 4 papers and then realised the batteries jumped out in both of cameras.....

i'm curious about those rollers. 330 have bigger ones (in diameter).
thanks for that, Hugh :o)

^
I didn't know that! the rollers won't fit then, but I'll send them to you anyway, and you can see,. your bathroom escapades sound very amusing, I expect no less from you :0)

a present for my propack? great! thanks a lot. it's a bit demaged after the trip to lihuania/latvia as i broke it in the bathroom (yes, selfportraits :o). but will survive :o)
^
Self portraits and bathrooms, most people just go to the toilet! does it still work? the rollers are for any packfilm camera, so they will work in the 330 as well. :0)
^
oh and was a small bit of alcohol involved? :0)

i can only imagine how the lens looks like, but seems to nice and a bit sharper than the one i tried out.
And i know you can smile :o) even only during that disaster day, when our cameras refused to cooperate and when we were dropping our pictures you smiled a lot. that was a good fun :o)

^
I have fond memories of that day, and a very strange double exposed picture of you, after dropping my polas in a puddle! I also have a present for your propack, some new rollers, with grooves so the liquid doesn't go everywhere as much, there working well in the e100 and make it so much smoother to pull as well
