what is the difference between 79 and 59?

^ the 59 is similar to the 669, the developer is not that green and the borders on the side not that bright white. the 79 is similar to the 690, where the main point is that (compared to the old 690 -yeah, they didn't change the name!- or the old PRO100 -for 4x5-) is, that the emulsion is quite unique for a packfilm -it is kind of self-developing (like an integral film), so it doesn't matter if you keep the pos and neg together for a longer amount of time, the colours stay the same. and the clours itself are, compared to the 59, more 'natural', bit like fuji, but still a bit warmer i would say. My 79 is still quite fine, but i have some new 690 which are expired for 2 years now and they get quite dull. good for night shots (another point, colours don't change that much with longer exp. times as they do with 669 or 59, also the reciprocity comes in later, both make it my choice for pinhole), but not such great effects as you often have with expired 669 or 59. I would say79 expired goes more to green, but too less proves yet to say really.

Greeeeat! I often find myself noting the approx. time when seeing a beautiful shadow, just so that I can return later with a camera (I seem to never carry them around). I'm thinking of maybe going to Riga this summer, if there's time between the shifts at the steel factory. Will have to look this add up if I go!
