good lecture! I'm back at Aragon at the moment ;-) I'm still not convinced about the glare or not. the bit of colour shift to purple irritates me. And I think I have read something, but have no clue what or where. Anyway, I'm off to try the optar more, and that's the only thing that counts! ready to explore the borders of the lens..
ah, for a moment I had forgotten you live in italy. you lucky dog.
enjoy! (all)

I'd be interested how you'll like the "i". what I've heard, it's just more plastic and people swear on the old (though I'd like to play with the pro.. ;-)
^
I'm currently using my old Mamiya "i" holder. Yes, it is made of plastic but lighter... I was convinced to buy the metal one when I found a "new in a box 545i". And about the graflex optar lens: I guess that that "effect" does not dipend on the color-correction. See also here »link Probably the direct light glare? I'm now reading "The camera", by Ansel Adams... euros 50,5, here in Italy. Happy week!

hm. I should try the optar more. I guess that's what they call "not color-corrected" ;-)
for the holder: checked what's going on with one sheet for wasting? maybe you have to dismantle it. should be plein mechanics and fixable.

^
At least I have read it is color coated. The holder is a Mamiya 4x5 back I have converted... I have just bought a new (!) 545i from an ebay vendor. It's in USA, I guess I will have to wait for it for a long time...

is the light on the trees in the light the same in the pola? which lens do you have have on your crown? it's beautiful.
^
Sure, the light is the same (I also like it). The shot before this resulted in a black image beacause sometimes (often...) the film does not engage the holder. And my fingers always on "do not press here" ;)
The lens is "standard" Optar 135 mm. And you'are right: once I have tried the 79 it is very difficult to return to the fp-100...
