I dont want to enter the Sx70 debate, i cant speak for anybody else, but i rarely look to see what type of camera has been used. If i like it, i vote it,and i like this, so i voted! v+f

Don't get me wrong - I have an SX-70 and I love it but I think there is more you can do with pack film and you can certainly get greater resolution with some of the films.

The groupings of the pictures are so inventive - you have an artist's eye for composition as well as being technically a very good photographer. At the risk of being controversial, these are the types of pictures that should win SOTD instead of some of the artsy-fartsy SX-70 shots that the judges (i.e the members, I suppose)always seem to favour. Seems to me that if you shoot with anything other than an SX-70 you are facing an uphill battle to get your images up with a chance of winning SOTD lol! To my mind, 600SE or glass lens packfilm camera shots on 100 series film are by far and away the best images on this website but they are very poorly represented in the SOTD archives. Sorry, got a bit off topic but wanted to make that point.

Hello,

You're right, the sx-70 is seen as semi-divine. After playing around with the colourpack I'm definitely not convinced that the sx-70 camera/film combinations are the ultimate in polaroid photography. But they seem to have more attention than they deserve. I suspect that the 100 series cameras/film are much more versatile, and exciting to use. The film, definitely, is beautiful.

Thanks for your comments...though I wouldn't agree that technically I'm all that hot (I'm not!). I've just learnt to use a 600 camera so that the pictures don't look rubbish. I'm still learning with the colourpack. Everything I do seems overexposed...

This is an even longer reply than your original message!

Cheers,
Georgia
