what a cool project --- GREAT project. I once shot this essay for a street mag in Vancouver --- went a to drunks bedsit where all he had was a bed and sink to piss in. He had all the Muppets sitting on his window sill. He introduced me to them all and then went on to ask how their day went and stuff. He was particularly fond of Fozzy Bear and carried him around with hi. Can of Millers in one hand, Fozzy Bear in the other. I thought - you know, these dolls serve a purpose... they actually make these people feel less lonely and thought this was cool(?). The odd think about your photos here is how well groomed the dolls look.

whoa. that sounds like an interesting project. do you have any of it scanned? i'd like to check it out.

and you make a good point about the probable decrease in loneliness because of the dolls. i hadn't thought of it like that. what's odd though about these two is they are actually a couple.
