oh right, yeah that's a good point about the size. yep it works with spectra (well i don't have a spectra, so once again might be talking rectally, but patrick winfield does that a lot).

my scanning works better if:
after doing a preview,
crop to just inside the lines of the pola (border included)
then do final scan

rather than crop to anywhere outiside the border, to crop later in a photo prog

this seems to encourage the scan to be brighter and truer, inlcuding the white border.

it was the algae that did it for me... one q - why do often you scan without the pola border?

^ basically, I like the image to be a little bigger... I'm still to experiment with cutting the borders off like some of yours... do you know if that'll work with spectra stuff as well? also, the scanner I've got always seems to turn the border blue-y raher than white...
