The composition here is really nice, as is the choice of vantage point and lightng. It all works together to give a very convincing sense of time and place.

^ Thank you very much - I would have preferred to have taken the shot from another angle so as to have avoided the house side in shadow which came out completely black - but the composition would not have been so good from another angle!

^ Thank you, very kind of you to say so. Generally speaking I prefer to photograph traditional buildings; 19thC or early 20thC; I have photographed modern buildings from time to time but I like the textures of the traditional building materials, brick, tile, wood etc and how they show up in photographic images. Also the scale of domestic residential and commercial architecture allows for more intimate compositions
