haha- once when i was in trinidad, we went 'down the islands' with some friends ona boat- i was about 10. anyway- we went to this bay and there used to be a zoo somewhere near and there were lots of stories about what happened to the animals in it. So, my friend Lindsey and I went walking in the rainforest, with her little brother. As we were talking about lions escaping and roaming around we heard these afrul ROOOOOAAAAARRRR! sounds. We all freaked and started running as fast as we could over the brambles and broken glass. As we were running we kept on seeing flashes of reddish brown fur and thought it was lions. When we got back to the beach, I had lost one flip flop behind me, and my feet were covered with thorns, and then we were told we had been chased by howler (or howla- not sure of the spelling!) monkeys.
There is one now wearing one flip flop and laughing at us, i'm sure!
So i believe you bout the monkeys!
