I zink that Dimitris is an orthodox name. Russia is the bigest orthodox country.
Also, the name Dimitris is the same (the greek version) in every language unlike John--> Giovanni--> Juan--> Ivan--> Yianni etc...

i thought she was smiling in the first frame?! then i enlarged it and saw the title, brilliant. The lighting reminds me of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. maybe its the knife.

^ Fantastic that you say that, it's exactly the Kuleshov effect! It's what happen with puppets, you associate expressions, in fact your mind puts expressions on the fix puppet face, according to the movement or the action taking place. Kuleshov was a soviet filmmaker famous for his avantgarde experiments in the 1910's or so. He made a movie with the stock footage of a famous actor, just looking neutrally to a certain place. Then he cut to different scenes: a dead man, a couple of girls playing, etc. And the audience assured to have seen changes in the expression of the actor. But it was the same scene repeated all the time. With those shots i wanted to say that you can't really know someone else, no matter how close you are to this person. Everything that you believe to perceive, just happens inside of you. Everything is just an interpretation. It's old the old "shadows in the cave" but applied to someone you love. |
