This certainly feels classic to me. 1950s or 60s Manhattan. The sort of subject I’d expect to see in silver gelatin, hanging on the walls of the Met or MOMA. I’m glad there’s color, though; otherwise we’d miss out on that woman’s bold jacket, and Nick’s fine blue lettering.
An interesting outfit on display. What sort of person buys a snazzy number like this? A used-car salesman? The divorced owner of a vacuum supply store going on his first date since he split up with his wife? A con artist? Or maybe an ironically hip person in dark sunglasses & beat-up white tennis shoes.
1994. What the hell did 1994 look like? What do the years 1990-95 (my childhood) look like in our collective imagination, for God’s sake? I don’t really remember. The 80s had a distinct look. But 90-95? All that comes immediately to mind is the 1991 film Boyz n the Hood.

Actually pear, hate to tell you, but this was somewhere on the upper east side where there are probably no used car salesman. So this was I guess fancy tetro or sumpin. Well, 1994 looked a hell of a lot better than 2007 does.Boys on the Hood? Huh
