"Entropy reigns supreme."
Yes, you put it perfectly!
You *were* out of place ; ) but Harlem is pretty safe (and expensive, actually, to live in). It’s a big area so maybe not every block, but it is mostly okay. Pretty much all of NYC is safe now. Not when I was a kid, but things are different. I think snotty fancy-ass white stockbrokers even live in Harlem!

Ah yes, I actually know exactly which hotel you mean. Right near the Chrysler Building.
Chinatown is a good place. The people spit a lot & usually I walk in the street because the sidewalks are too crowded & when you walk in the street in Chinatown you come very close to getting run over by fish delivery vans and dying; but it’s all good. Chinatown is ALIVE.
Well, enjoy your last day in da city…

ahah yes...that is true. in china town entropy reigns supreme.
yesterday I went to Harlem also..but I tooke the bus 103 after few minutes because I feel ...out of place..it's still dangerous?
then I got in off near Central Park.

Oho. I was also in Chinatown on December 29, 2007.
On Mott Street, and Elizabeth Street, and Mulberry Street.
In the afternoon.
I wonder if I would have recognized you & your camera.
Damn. What a nice & totally unexpected surprise that would have been.
