Thank you - I haven't got photoshop and I think it is quite expensive, so that is a non starter - but I will investigate what my scanner can do; it is only a bog standard household everyday scanner but it might be able to do this, i will see

I have been dying to find out how you can apply computerised processes to a negative in order to make a positive appear which you can post online. I have many many type 665 negatives and would LOVE to be able to post clear positive scans of them. If you have time, could you (or anyone else for that matter) post a short concise tutorial for me, maybe in my guestbook? Is it just a question of having photo software which will invert a scan of a negative? Do any free photo manipulation software packages allow you to do this? Many, many thanks for any help you can offer.

Very short version, but yes you can just scan and invert in photoshop. If you are using 655 or 55 then you can scan in a scanner that scans negatives and let the scanner software do the inverting... When I get a few moments I may well sit down and write down my scanning workflow... and post it up somewhere---
