at least there's one polaroid by you I can still see. * )

i have both the adaptor & a telescope but can't get this to work. any tips?

^
Hi,
Well I don't come here much these days, busy with film projects and still using my SX-70 but just not here.
Not really, I just fitted the microscope adaptor over the viewing microscope where the viewing eyepiece would normally go, and then fit the SX-70 onto it and hey -presto with a bit of fine tunning it just worked :) Sorry I can't be of more help, Hurrah VF

Really great use of the microscope adapter.

I wanted one for some weird effects like this.

^
Thanks, as I don't have a microscope any more I thought I best use it somehow :))) Hurrah VF

i was going to ask you what exithp asked you about your cropping. which scanner is it? might be worth putting it into the most manual mode possible (professional or something) then you should always have to manually crop in the preview stage. any auto scan (or easy scan on my epson DX something or other) seems to churn up tempremental cropping.

anyway, congrats big man.

^
Hi, thanks :) Yes it's very odd, I turned the picture around and re-scanned using the same settings and this time it did not crop - see todays upload of said picture. I can only find an auto document detect setting, other than that it seems set on auto everything. It's a Canon Pixma MP760 scanner, copier, print er thingamajig ! Ah well, cheers VF

alright!!! didn't even had time to see the pic that it's already on the first page !!!
well done mister.
i'm so looking forward to see more of this kind of shots.
waw space!! it's so nice ! lucky you you've got a shit big telescope.

i just have one question.
why did you crop the pics when you uploaded it?

anyways, big congrat !! enjoy it ...

^
Hi, thanks - Polaroid reaches space :) Yes it's a big one but as it's Russian - very cheap and the optics brilliant! I'm not sure why my scanner crops the edges but not the bottom, it always comes up with this message "one image cropped" I will have to look into the settings but it's odd and on some film types it does and on others it does not - weird but I don't understand well such devices yet. Cheers Paul

... pfff... i'm sure you just used a close up kit and reproduced an astronomy book... You cheater !
;-D

ha ha, I wish I had thought of that, it would have saved me loads of film and very cold fingers last night. Next project will be the sun using a very special telescope indeed :)))) Cheers VF

Great one! (after the SotD fact). Did you have to adjust the focus differently than usual? And to start with, did mounting the camera take any further adaptation than just the Micro adapter? Sorry to chew the ear...
^
Hi, thanks ! No the camera was just set to manual focus and the focus wheel was set for maximum distance (infinity). The light/dark wheel in the mid position, then the camera just fits into the adaptor, this clamps onto the eyepiece and away you go. You must override the adaptors automatic though and use the manual cable release as there is not enough light for the auto circuits to fire, hope this helps, hurrah VF

I've been waiting for a month for my adapter to come, and do this EXACT thing - damn! Congrats though, very nice shot
^
Ah, great minds think alike - it was luckyt the adaptor fitted the eyepiece so well, the main problem is vibration when the shutter fires and also the fact you need a longish exposure and that moon moves so damn quick - I have not got a motorised mount on this telescope, cheers VF

how have you done to play with the sx70 and the telescope at the same time ?!
I wish this shot >sotd !!

^
Thank you for your kind words, I set up the telescope and quicky used the remote shutter release on the micrscope adaptor unit before the moon moved too much. The micrscope adaptor overides the cameras exposure system and you can have uo to 12 second exposures if you need or wish, all good fun if a little panicky at times, cheers VF
