So much work and thought that went into the presentation of a Polaroid. Most peculiar. And oh so wonderful.
^
Thank you Madame TicKL.
I'm so glad you noticed, and took the time to say so.
I, and all the others represented here, appreciate you for that.

mmhhhh I'll read everything at home, tonight, drinking some italian red wine... 'cause I really can't open a bottle here at work!

I made my infinity shot today...
uploading and posting today... as soon as I leave this place of boredom :)

are you starting a new square?

have a nice day
m.

Oh, sure you can open the wine at work.
Just pour it into a coffee cup.

I'll be looking forward to your post.

Yes, this is the start of a new square. Unofficially called Infinity Squared Again - or maybe it's official now. I sent this photo to g. just yesterday. After him remains a mystery/surprise.

Thanks Marco.
I'll be sure to drop by your comment box later today.

i will not leave extended comment to this pic
Surrealistic spirit, like in the Magritte paintings, and the invisible visitor sitting on that visible chair. Just great

Great thought Zvevi.

Ah, once again the cat has the community's tongue, even though in my humbly-bumbly opinion this represents pola(n/r)oid at its best. Maybe I'm biased, because my brown envelope is in the picture.

Yes, the colors are nice, although so was the punctuation in Moby Dick. Which is to say there is so much more going on here; so many layers, and points of simultaneous intersection and departure, that I just don't know where to begin. There are about a thousand and one little details, and they all seem worthy of singling out for appreciation.

This isn't a very good place for that, because it's a bit tight. The room is airy, this box is not. I'll send you an e-mail, too. But I want to say that what excites me most is this "intersections and departures" business. Let me rephrase that: arrivals, connections, and departures. I think it's interesting that this was taken in the state of Georgia, because unless I'm mistaken, Atlanta International Airport is the busiest passenger airport in the world. I read that in a newspaper recently.

And so it makes perfect sense that the work of everyone in your tags would come together here, for one quiet, contemplative afternoon, in your Georgia parlour. Brooklyn, Italy, France, Greece, Sweden, Germany, La Mancha, and the Land of the Bohemians. All in one peaceful, uncluttered room.

Three projects overlapping (mustn't forget Manfinity, preserved in zvevi's picture). Cycles and threads and layers and levels. Tangible interaction between members on two continents. An old school, analogue exchange of analogue photographs. You left out one collaborator in the tags: all of the postal employees without whom none of these projects would be remotely possible.

Lastly, I read every word in the description out loud. Thank you. Very moving. "Very moving" is a bit weak, but you know what I mean.

One detail: I love how the vase with the sunflowers on the right echoes the vase (with dead flowers) in the background of the Bohemians picture. Just another little layer of floral repetition. One of many. And many to come. Wonderful.

After two months, we are just beginning.

Yes, the cat. Of the 45 distinct views how many would you guess actually read ALL of the description? Certainly less than ten. Their loss.

You're not mistaken. The local airport is indeed the holder of the esteemed title "World's Busiest Airport". Has been for a while I believe. I really don't like to get bogged down in trivial statistics like that one though. I only know this because I live nearby & when it's announced every year it's a requirement of citizenship to sign an affidavit stating that you've been informed. The more informed among us can even quote all the statistics. Yawn.

I do like that you pointed this out though. It coincides with a recent newsfeed entry by theCGproject. I'm sure you've read it so here's the coincidence. When I read her wonderful idea I almost immediately thought of that very airport. Why, you ask? Well, I've never met another polanoid member in person, much less taken a picture of one (discounting my screenshot of WM). But I did think that that airport might provide me with the opportunity to do so at some point in the future. Polanoid members must travel occasionally and occasionally some of them must pass through "TWBA". I heard an opportunity knock. One day I'll answer the door.

I love the idea of reading the descriptions out loud. I'm going to try that when I find the appropriate one, or two...

The flowers - I was sitting in the chair, looking at "In the Land of the Bohemians", and thinking about what else I needed to do. Then my eyes zeroed in on the vase in the shadow. I got up, walked about 5 paces to the foyer, and had my solution. I still wish I'd placed it a little to the right though. Live and learn.

One of my favourite details from "Bohemians" is your careful placement of everything. The little slice of sunlight between subjects and wall. The little kiss of sunshine on Hidalgo's face. The positions of Schlexi, Lily and what's old his name. It's fantastic. I really wish you'd uploaded it.

Another link in the chain.

I love it. When I read your message in my guestbook, I thought for a second not to click the link, waiting for the mail first, but then it came in my mind I probably will come across it anyway by accident, so I clicked, wanted it to be a special moment.
and was rewarded with calmness and the offer to take a seat.
enjoyed every word, every paragraph. The details worthy, absolutely.
so much linkage (fits perfectly what's in my mind and life right now). actually even more that than you could have been aware of - the same wallcolour is to find in my flat...

I am not going to say more. let's the images speak for themselves.

got a glass of wine myself now -
zum wohl, jeff. prieka. and thanks.

Thank you g.

You were wise to click instead of waiting on the mail - better to know than just stumble across in this case.

I'm glad that you wrote "rewarded with calmness" - means I've achieved my goal - at least in one case. I'd considered using some "effect" to enhance this photo (cartridge manipulation, filtration blur, moody lighting, etc..) but in the end decided to opt for as much realism as I could manage. The blend film was good for this as the wall colour is an almost perfect match. The words took a while but were as important as the image and well worth the effort.

The best part of your reply... "(fits perfectly what's in my mind and life right now). actually even more that than you could have been aware of." Perfect.

Enjoy your wine Gerald. I'll have some of the Shiraz in a while and drink a toast to the new Infinity Square, old friends, new friend, and life.

Cheers.
