i rented "trouble in paradise" the other night--thank you for this! such a night of laughter! (no vodka, even!)
^
happy you like! I love these films from that era and lubitsch, (especially this one) is simply the best. not that i would support censorship, but what it made people to get along with it - outstanding! way more subtle, way more there to see than on the first sight. tit's and ass. pah.
oh, i forgot to mention the deal for sharing this germ - may you allow to show stefan me the other side of the diptych? (not for laughter)

brilliant! i have to say--being a part of polanoid is sometimes like being in a movie from the 40s, with such quick and delicious banter!

i know these lovely gingerbread tiles from my favorite silverpoint photo: "Tallinas Iela v47 (revised in October) " by g.

;)

^
read s. comment there, then you'll get why I asked. be sure to have a look at it *. even more subtle, was impossible to make a scan of it - so I knew for haptic/ephemeral/polaroid/riga- reasons this has to go to him.

*haha, one-shouldered nasty santa always knows where his lovejoy is ;)

My favorite Latvian view. Period. Doesn't matter if it's choco or any other peel apart. And to think that maybe in just a few months I will see a view something like this of my own - it's really exciting! I've got high hopes, very high hopes!

I have to do more with that rodenstock... Is it easy to fit type 80 in a 110a converted back? (love the choco at night!)
^
yes, supereasy. methode stefan. I had to cut bit of the plastic though (from the cartridge), but this depends on the back used for the conversion. only thing is you have to "think away" part of what you see in the rangefinder, but one gets used to it quickly.

yep. choco for nightshots. had the idea it could be great. and got rewarded.

it's ok. we don't want to wake up the people.

(otherwise they would see a crazy person half out window with a camera in the snow ;)

oh! now i know those tiles--there--in the bottom left corner! i've seen them in a delicate silver point, and now in snow covered chocolate! here, they look like the tiles of a gingerbread house, with a bit of frosting at the edges. beautiful, g.

^
thanks, my. funny you mention gingerbread. two years ago it was so hard to get there, which really is a problem if you have a crush on it. were shipping care-parcels. but now all is well. you can get more than you want. except asparagus.

ehm.. where have you seen it? here? or have you seen the other one??

This comment last, before going to bed for the next ten hours.

Exquisite. Was January 2 in Riga the sharpest, purest, and most magical night in the history of weather? I love it. Almost like even if you *wanted* to take a blurry picture it would still come out perfectly crisp.

Little details I like:

The lights on in the flat across the street; eventually they will go out. The toy set intimacy. The film lot or theatre set atmosphere; dramatic, even though nothing is happening. The store signs; they are more contemporary than anything else, and that appeals to me; small hint that this was not taken ages ago. Cold glass. The square chocolate frame, which is perfect for reminding us of the window you are looking out. The street lamp, because eventually it too will go out. In the morning. But not yet.

Out. Lights out. Between Argyle and Rugby. Good night. A most satisfying upload. Thank you.

a wonderful description. but, just for the records: in fact I had two shots left, just in case for the exposure (nightshots..). first was correct but yes, blurry! also nice - but I wanted it crisp. choco-crisp. rodenstock-crisp. night-crisp. it was clear, and cold, yes. but not really magical, except how it turned out on the choco.
but there are days with more snow. and magic. even without a polaroid to see it.
(and I don't know anymore if it was the 2nd. found his way here somehow. gone again.)
