g.
i recently told a friend about this.
first she laughed and didn't understand (how could one).
then i explained it (what it is with polaroid, and how one later makes use of them, or gets an idea, or simply begin to like, or understand one).
than, she understood.

(which would be an empirical one-case proof for: there is a market. not so for greenish adventures though, imho)

^
i do have an idea for them. still forming in my mind for may months/years. one day.

many of these are screenshots (from tv). i once was obsessed with them. some i quite like actually.

the idea - 32 x 32. an icon. i'll continue to think about this.

ps/ you saw what i did with 100 (mostly) blank ones.

I can't find the stack loader for my scanner.
Be patient though, I'm training my pet monkey to scan.

Thank you m.

Thanks manu...
Wasn't exactly my original conception but I couldn't get them to remain stable as a single stack.

No problem ! but yes what was interesting in this picture...It is the fact that its idea unfold itself or stay latent after a certain time of observation. Its almost a "Polaroid/Sculpture"...its very objectal and spatial.

Beside "Polaroid is our Passion" Its first formally interesting...then out of Polanoid context it could take a little while to understand what's going on exactly in this picture..even if I liked it at first sight.
Thanks

That's an interesting perspective Frederic. I'm glad you've pointed that out. I wonder what the response would've been outside the project walls and without any description or 'tips'. Perhaps the comments would more often say something like..."Looks cool, but what is it?". Without the description there is no real scale to judge the contents. Thanks for the comment Frederic, stay passionate.

that's crazy... well, i do save all my polaroids. never ever had the idea of throwing away one.. and i have to admit, i'm very selfish with my polas.. i love every single one and i wan to keep it by myself. and it has been a long way of learning to say good-bye to polas. connected with the realization that giving away a pola could make someone else much happier than i would be (if i wouldn't give it away.. :D )

but your stack.. wow.. but the sentence "some of the ones, that will never see the scanner face.." frightens me a lil bit.. :D damn, i do not wanna see your "you're good enough to get onto the scanner" pola-pile.. :D

^
It's not crazy Viki, they're all special - regardless of what they look like. Some are just more pleasant to look at than others. You really should try giving at least one away. A special one. See how you feel after that. I've done that just that recently. I know of others that regularly give away their treasures. It feels pretty good . I'll tell you what, you pick one from my gallery, any one, and I'll send it to you. If you like you can send one back to me. If, after some time goes by, you can't stand it, I'll send yours back. It's a special feeling to hold one of the pictures you've admired on this site in you own hands.

About my "you're good enough to get onto the scanner" pola-pile - not nearly as big as this one & you can see 122 of them any time you want. Once upon a time I had over 300 up here but that felt like too many. I wish I'd left them now. Slowly I'll be adding back to that pile though. Stay tuned. Let me know which of my little pola babies you want...oh, and thanks for the nice comment.

All of a sudden I don't feel guilty for keeping my own pile of rejectoids!
^
We're not the only ones.
As zveliakine said below... "they are an instant of my life".
Never feel guilty about passion.

this is the absolute Passion pola !
and every comment below is just so right
i do not even dare to throw away blank or black polas
i keep them all
it's sentimental
they are an instant of my life, even if they are not interesting from an artistic point of view
they exist

^
What timing. I was typing a reply to your comment while you were leaving this one.

All my 'blank' polas are for an as yet undetermined project. All my rejects are for another undetermined one as well. Until I figure them out they'll just wait in a box.

I like the way you put it best - "they are an instant of my life".
Well said.

this is great on so many levels, pictures in picture is my personal favorite. shows the depth and flatness of each, what a great way to show the passion you have by showing the 'extras'. i have shoeboxes of scraps and pieces of color.

wow, my this would make good collage material! if you are ever interested, i would put them to good use- if i sell it we can split the profits ;)

but i would much rather it hang on your wall instead of selling it.

^
I'd love to check out your shoeboxes Patrick. I bet you've got some real gems there.

I'll be in touch via guestbook or email about what you've said. I started to reply here & it got a bit out of hand. I want to thing a little more and formulate a more coherent reply. Got to be a little rambling and long for the comment box.

Thanks for the kind words.
I'll be in touch.
Oh, I wish I attend your next show. Would be so awesome to see your new work up close. Good luck.

This is the meaning of Polaroids: objects, and pictures as well.
Things to care of.
Great.
Benni

You're so right Benni. I just can't bring myself to throw any of them away.*

I may not care for the image I've made, but I do love the Polaroid just for itself. I've been addicted for a long time.

*Although I'll happily give them away - to others that care.

Thanks Benni.

i bet you can sell them a fortune on ebay in a few years time when polaroid has become a legend :)

I hope so, otherwise my children will be unable to attend university. I've spent all that money on film! And cameras. And...
