unfortunately i couldn't see cherry blossoms so much in japan this year, but this photo makes me sooooooo happy!
now i feel spring finally!

This is wonderful - I can feel the sunshine. The floating petals look like sparkles.

^ i couldn't believe how beautiful it was. a glorious few hours--all spent under the cherry trees. then i ate burgers with some young republicans and drove home.

I'm pretty sure it's august 24th but I know it's sometime in the last week of august. I already submitted my housing deposit, but I'm now sure where I'm going to end up. whether it's in the george washington hotel the SVA calls it's "dorms" or the ludlow apartments... hmm.
but I don't see myself being in dorm next year, so I will look around. thanks so much.

^ oh--stupid me! okay, no more unnecessary advice! well, wherever you end up--i'm sure it will be slightly to moderately better than an abandoned asylum. ;)

hehe yeah, DC is only 30 minutes away from me, so I go down there every once in a while. I've just never been during this time of the year.
I'm so excited to get out of here and go up there!
I'm visiting on the 16th.

^ oh! i wanted to tell you--but maybe you already have this worked out--when i first moved here, i looked thru craig's list and the ny times and other places for listings of apartments for rent, but the ads in the village voice were the most helpful...i saw a few apartments from those listings and eventually moved into one of them with a friend. when is your Official Move to New York?!

Hey, here I expected you to be in Camp David, making plans for further couch-invasions, and instead you're capturing beauty in DC! Is this a move toward a more gentle side of our Great Captain?

^ frankly embarrassing how many polas i took here-- but it was so beautiful--my eyes couldn't get enough! i spent about four hours just walking back and forth and sitting by the water and, every time the breeze came up, feeling the petals sprinkle down like confetti!
