Well, the truth is: the further you move from 'classic' photography towards 'art', the less reaction you will get. I really like what's going on on Polanoid, but it's all quite 'photographic' if you know what i mean. (There's exceptions, of course). I have many images on here that didn't provoke any reaction on Polanoid - but created a buzz 'offline'. In the 'analogue' world i am not considered a photographer but rather an artist that achieves his results through the Polaroid camera. Both is equally interesting, but i have the feeling that many people here think that using expired film is already enough to create exta-art-value...
Anyway, sorry for my monologue, I love this series, keep it coming.

I'd have to agree that the prevailing taste on Polaroid tends to be strongly geared towards visuals - like striking expired film effects or altered colours or, to some extent, clever technical ideas. Noiders also love a bit of fog or misty rain and a nice bit of selective foreground (or long-distance) focussing. They often go for the kind of framing or focussing that grabs you immediately and visually.

My SOTD today is exactly such a case. Foreground focus, blurred background, framing that is immediately striking, expired effects, expired colours, cute props, visually pleasing - not trying to be clever. Lord, it could have been made to order!

Anyway, thanks very much for that comment. None of us should fall into the trap of taking popularity as our own standard of judgement.

Thank you. I was really pleased with how this series turned out, but it didn't make all that much of a furore, it's true. But I am rather fond of the theory that Polanoid is trying to punish me because my arse is too pretty.
