I know the area very well and know the exact location you refer to - I live not a million miles from there (in Hendon, NW) but have always had friends in the Highgate area (and other reasons to visit the area soch as pubs etc lol!)

^ the flask in highgate is great....i've been to hendon but not for a long while....its nice all that north londoness...I miss it...I live east Nnow, on Broadway Market, though the pub downstairs is great too!

What part of London is this - and what direction were you pointing the camera in when you shot towards Central London? Very nice shot and wistful caption.............

^ It is the in crouch end, Mountview road precisely, there is a reservoir opposite so that there are no obstructions, and my aunt's house has a great granny flat where i shot this from, stanidng in the velux. So I was North (N4)...the dome is just to the right of this photo....
