I see that you left a little favlink comment. I like those very much (giving and receiving), so it's nice to know that more people use them!

its good to sometimes make exceptions!!! and it looks likea sotd may very well happen for this one!!!
^

I'm glad to feel good about it, but don't make a habit out of it because then it won't be an exception anymore ; )

Just kidding. I'm thankful, as before, for your exception and for other peoples exceptions as well. It's nice to know from time to time that you're doing something ... well, something good.

Thanks again.

Hey Joster!

Yes the armwriting thing is a good way to keep pictures up to be taken! Last times I only needed my polaroid in vacation, so I am a little more relaxed and leave away that armwriting thing...which makes ist also possible to get some nice shots.

Yes, I am back in Riga, but wont stay for much longer. I will apply for a job in Hamburg from October on. I am really keen on staying in my old hometown for some time and rediscover it with my new pleissure polaroiding! Hey looks pretty much as if you were making the next shot of the day! I´ll be the first to say concratulations then...if ;)

Yes, a good mix between planned shots (ie. armwriting involved) and relaxed, spontaneous shots is best I think. I'm actually on my way to a neighboring town in an hour or so to take a shot that I've subconsciously been thinking about for a year or so. Nothing extraordinary, but something that I need to take. And today is finally the day to do it (nice to leave with a sotd patting me on the back).

Rediscovering your hometown via Polaroid is special, it truly is. I hope that you will enjoy it very much and that Hamburg One will be uploaded shortly.

Take care and thank you for the kind words!

Jo

Yay! You rotated it! And I am glad, because now it seems more like standing between two giant hills with a flock of birds behind.
^

Of course I rotated it, what else could I do. Perhaps from now on I should always provide an upside-down view of my uploads, so as to please the Girl in the Dreamworld?

Your spirit - that talked to me - was very much right insisting like it did, and I thank you for it. Perhaps a little gift will someday find it's way to the heartland of your country. Just have to work out a way for the bottle mail to reach you; any large rivers nearby? A permanent puddle, deep as the ocean, will do just fine as well.

also what i find particularly fascinating about this is the fact that her body doesn't look distorted- not wider at the bottom or anything like it usual...its the perfect angle!

aw thanks...thats very sweet of you. Yes indeed- it looks like a powerful spirit that you wouldn't want to argue with!

inspired turning it upside down i just love this! i want it on my wall!!!!
^

It was the spirit of Amalia that told me to turn it, and when Amalia speaks one obeys.

If I ever manage to make a decent print of this I'll gift it to you.

The lightfall in the water is just perfect, making the girl really stand out. I also love the composition. It makes you look twice.
^

Thank you zwartenwit, for looking twice. Myself I have one mental image from the scene and the long walk to it and then this pola. Don't know which one is better, but the lightning sure looks more beautiful here than in "reality".

what is it with you folks?? I was just looking at Drew's latests, then I clocked yours - it seems holidays bring out the best - this is head-meltingly good... welcome back, Joster
^

G,

I'm honored to be mentioned in the same sentence as Drew (who's style I admire - from a distance - but could never pull of myself). And I'm glad that you like this pola, though - as one must say - it looks better in it's original, unscanned, form.

Thank you for the warm welcome here and on Flickr. Makes me feel good to be back!

Ah, Y. How is things? Are you back in Riga, the pearl in the east?

I took this at the end of a very long walk, just before the rain started falling again. I think I had it in my head ever since we first passed by this puddle (circular walks, you know) and I'm happy I remembered it even without writing it on my arm like certain others ; ) (But I do sometimes get the urge to use my body as a notebook, though it always happens when I'm not carrying any pens ...)

Hope you are well, greetings from Sweden!

this is mesmerizing, I can't stop staring at it!!

Wouldn't it be even better with a carrot or a daffodil somewhere in the corner? I'm positive it would.
