I admire your self portraits, like this image, that is so tender and thought provoking for me. This simple gesture seems to says so much, yet the image is timeless. (You have lovely hands, if you don't mind my saying so)
I've decided to take a queue from you and experiment with self-portraiture, as I've been so frustrated in trying to find friends or someone in my area to sit for a portrait. I guess this is one way to get started doing portraits. I remember in art school the drawing and painting majors frequently learned to rely on drawing themselves before a mirror. I've become so used to shooting landscapes that stay in one place, and not having to ask a statue to strike a pose that I've now dream of live subjects. But it's only practical to use what we have at hand, don't you think?
