oh
here's my favorite one!

: )

A bottle will set sail today, I'm putting the finishing touches to it as I type this (making sure there's food and books to last the whole trip &c).

fridge - i'm not so sure about the fridge anymore. problem is the humid. i could reseal them all (double), but pff. my pantry worked fine for years now, in riga i have them in the fridge (too big temperature up and downs otherwise). time will prove.

choco - oh yes, i am very curious about that as well (given the fact choco by nature is a unstable or at least unknown mix of chemicals and scan and reproduction was always recommended - at least for the 8x10).

suns - looks more like dirty rollers to me? (but had one strange flaw half a year before expiry, look at my waw chocos)

tz - it is. mail on the way in a minute. all turned greenish, one got extra sprinkles. one has time enough to scan them within some weeks i'd say (did not realize any changing in the first week). options? none. use where and when you want, get what you get. scan soon. sue a company that does not really exists anymore maybe. haha.

true. i said that. i actually have the problem the other way 'round: i start to try to use the few NON-expired films i have when they are fresh. not only because it's a difference and an experience that soon will be gone, but also because i realized (and i still hope it's just some random that only affects me) that the lately produced (at least all bw) films tend to die way earlier than older ones. mark: not expire faster. die. tot.
thing is: maybe it is just random. and then i shorten my polaroid life.

(btw: just had a look at my art.tz's - alarm! worse than bw600. expiration date 09/09? HAHAHA)

J mentioned this as well - having newly expired packs of 664 die on her on after another. And they where perfectly stored in her fridge.

I don't have that many bw-films, but I'm starting to worry about the choco (of which I have A LOT) since there's been more and more appearances of "suns" (see A Girl from Ghent by J). Not on every pola, but at least 2 or 3 per pack. Can be very frustrating having these Photoshop lens flares pop up in the worst places possible.

When I get back to Örebro (I'm in Dalecarlia for the day) I will check my artTZ's again - in daylight. If it's really as bad as people say, what options do we have? Shot and then scan really fast? Would be good to know before packing films for Paris.

Now then. I've been here and there, and also got no internet at the moment, so not been able to spend as much time on here as I'd like. You've had some really amazing shots lately though. Don't have time to comment on them all as I'm using my neighbours computer, but I love this one, great shot and expired polaroid beauty.
Fare ye well, young man, fare ye well

ok. i'm not going to use my id-uv in the next five years now.

I've learned to wait from the best. Wasn't it you that once said that Polaroid film age like fine wine? I try to save the expired ones for special occasions, but it's hard - oh so hard. Still got two packs of SX-70 left from you though : )

Tack! How is Göteborg treating you? Is it as windy as I think it is? (As soon as I think of Göteborg in the autumn my inner DJ puts on Jens Lekman's Maple Leaves/Jag Tyckte Hon Sa Lönnlöv.)

My eyes are crossing. Too many pushups!

Dizzy? Ask mama inkaust to make you a glass of warm honey vodka - it's good against *everything*. (Maybe I should be a PR-consultant?)

maybe you got a lucky pack of film..? i noticed the colors vary a lot depending on the film quality...
dont know for sure when the halloween nerdout is, but i'll definitely be around. im not going anywhere before xmas! :)
are you planning to come to paris as well?

^

Almost all the polas I have visible were shot with the Unsaleable 04/03 ID-UV, which I bought plenty of. So if it's the film then I've got lots of nice surprises to look forward to! (Yes, you are right, the colors do vary a lot. I find that I can't get close to this with regular 669, even though it's supposed to be the same film material.)

I think the Halloween nerdout is around the 30th of october, but I'm not sure. I will be in Paris for a couple of days early in November, visiting my sister and a Boy Named Eliza. Looks like there will be quite a big amount of Pola-traffic in your city around that time : )

I love the coloring and hidden/reveal thing going on!

Even though it's not upside-down?

Are you feeling well, really? How many fingers am I holding up? Maybe you should lay down(up?)?

the tones are so soft and beautiful..
^

Thank you, Emilie! You know, I'm still not sure what I'm doing when I'm guessing exposures, but lately I've been having some luck with it. Even though it's not the *proper* one.

Will you be attending the Halloween-nerdout in Paris? Looks like I'm going to miss it by a couple of days...
