2008-11-06 // 01:11:09 PolaroidVanGogh Mistakes are part of the fun, but when there is no picture there and only accidental mistakes, examples being light leaks and dust and no image, I don't consider that photography! As a selling artist ion New York and Philadelphia, that shit just wouldn't sell!!! Her other work is much better!! For you to say you would be proud of that shot is ridiculous!! No real photographer is proud of no image and dust spots. That's just my opinion, NO OFFENSE brother. Peace... Matthew.

i am also a "selling" photographer. i was not, however, under the impression that this site was exclusive to professional or completely photographic members. polaroids become more than the art of taking a picture. they become an artifact, and a near-obsolete one at that. as far as i, and apparently quite a few other people on this site are concerned, this is a place to share not only pictures or images, but also experiences and artifacts. it is a near-voyeuristic look into the collections of people all over the world! a celebration even!

furthermore, as i think about it, quite a few things in the world that are considered "art" are comprised entirely of environmental or occupational mistakes. in many cases in the modern art world it's been shown that art is defined by the artist himself, and what he finds to be beautiful. so the person pressing that little red button (they being the artist) have set that process in motion and have become the creator of such work or object.
