huh. my main concern is how does the release manage to keep the shutter open for upwards amounts of time such as 40 sec.? wont the eye sense the light and automatically shut the shutter? or is it just because its so dark and the light is so low that it can manage to stay open for longer times?

this is sooo... RAD! i love the light! i cant ever get great night shots with my 100. :( was this a multiple exposure?

no, I used the cable release.
it hold the shutter open for however long you want.
just set that and walk off.
it was about 40 seconds total.
