Congratz with your SotD! :-)
^
Thanks so much Chris.

You had quite a lovely one earlier this week too. I really like that photo. Congrats yourself.

p.s. the two of them would make an elegant diptych. ;-)

That's style, Sir.

That's f***ing style.

(Just wished i came back sooner to vote for this. Congratulations)

^
Thanks Uri.
It's as much style as I can muster at one time.
I'm happy you stopped by.

p.s. I haven't forgotten about conjuring a memory. Next week, I think.

Yes!! I am doing a happy waltz around the room (William Powell, perhaps a hero of yours, said that martinis are shaken to waltz time)~
Big Congratulations Oré!

^
"...martinis are shaken to waltz time"

What a charming thought. I'm going to have to give this ingenious method a try. I'll never be as dapper as the Thin Man though.

Thank you for the lovely thoughts My.Iowa.

Visual wit on the cover! Something funny and clever for once! Bravo, Oré. An oddball classic.

Encore, as well. I mean it. Encore. More. I want to see the dapper bag head socialite waft from one gala event to the next. I sincerely hope this isn't the last we see of this debonair fruitcake.

^
Thank you friend. Even I have to admit this one turned out better than I'd visualized. I do cherish your phrase "oddball classic". If I had strived to live up to those words I never would have succeeded. Without thinking about it I did.

Re: Encore
I do sense something here. It's still not clear to me but it is percolating in my subconscious. Something long-lasting I think. A personal project with definite parameters as yet undefined. Stay tuned.

If i'd seen it i'd have voted.

You fucking legend.

Thanks Dan.

If you'd voted I would have appreciated it!
If I'm a fucking legend then you sir are a fucking rock star.
Go shoot a horse.

Right hand, little finger. It's like a cherry on a cake - perfect detail and the essence of the whole set-up. You're a real gentle, blue-blooded man, sir.
^
Thank you kind lady. The essence is often in the details. I'm happy you noticed.

Sipping white martini has never been so enticing. You should get in touch with the Marketing department for the next campaign. Clooneys and other clowns can go back where they came from!
^
Wow. What a compliment. I'm in good clown company.
Thanks kino.

Oh my. You have a special shirt for the tux. It is so beautiful without those distracting shiny black buttons and a silly collar. And the cumberbund and the bag and the pocket square are ever so well matched and tasteful. You look like a million polapremium bucks, dear sir.
What a dapper portrait--a toast to you! (So sophisticated--TWO olives!)

^
Buttons? I don't need no stinkin' buttons! Yeah, I do kind of match all over. Not bad for a fashion misfit. It was the border that really got me jazzed though. My bestest border evah.

I'm kind of miffed that I didn't notice the slightly turned out pocket of my not-so-tuxedo jeans though. I was suffocating in that skin tight t-shirt. ;-)

bulb?

rocks.
martini without, of course.
martine as well.

cheers, my friend.

p.s.:
i may start to use my id_uv now with last my bulbs as well (as it takes too long till it's warm and sunny again). thanks for this hint. love this site for hints like that and sharing genious ones like this. truly is.
and i like the residents idea as well. even better if you know who is behind, have a clue. do dou actually play an instrument? then i would know two now.

p.p.s.:
don't tell.

p.p.p.s.:
i vote and fav nonetheless. even if it makes no sense to fav private pics. ack.

p.p.p.p.s.:
(latins, sacrifice me) i think this perfectly fits a certain newsletter which is approaching the world these hours :-)
cheers again. holding my last dark beer towards you. prieka.

Arri 650 watt without filtration. About 2 meters from me. Dialed tight. You can judge the height by the shadow. ;-)
It appears to almost perfectly balance the blue of the 5 year expired ID-UV don't you think? I was quite pleased I didn't have to hunt for a blue Rosco gel.

Funny you should ask about the instrument. I've been trying to teach myself guitar for the past year or so. I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped to so I've resolved to find a competent instructor soon.

Thanks for the v+f. It won't be private forever. I just didn't want it on the first page or two today so I did this. All my polanoid friends have access if they wish. So far just 9. I like that. Double-secret-Bond- type shit.

You know a secret? About the impossible-project? I'll be asleep when this news is available. I think. I can't really tell time just by seconds.

Cheers, with an amber beer (not my last), to you friend.
^
p.s. - I forgot to ask. You know a Resident? Yes, I suppose you may know two now. Maybe. ;-)

great use of the scarf ! makes me think of the Residents, too.
Jeff, you are among the very best around here !

Not sure to have followed the previous steps and the new rules. Is the headbag a new "yellow brick road" to follow ?

Anyway, the next one will have a hard time.
..... ooooops.... who's next, btw ??????

^
it won't be the last time i use that wonderful scarf. it's supposed to be -11c tomorrow morning.

the bag isn't really a new rule. at least i don't think it is. just something i did for Marco. but feel free to use one for your next turn. it was fun.

i think Dimitris is next but i'm not quite sure. someone will let me know. it appears some of the photos aren't tagged with "infinity squared" so i can't see the entire chain. didn't my.iowa follow you? if so then it is indeed time for ksvks again.

Yes, we do.
Thanks.

p.s. I do wish the replies were time stamped. I'd been writing, back and forth between downstairs computer & 1st floor beef stew (thanks Misty), for the past 20 minutes and you have no idea. Now you do. Cheers sir.

This is so insanely elegant and posh. Is Truman Capote just outside the frame? I love the slightly cockeyed bow tie (knocked askew by a sloshed model perhaps?), and the foppish right pinkie beginning to strike out on its own.

I vote for every square inch of this remarkable documentary photograph, because it would make the cover a hell of a lot more interesting than it usually is.

^

You're insanely insightful sir. My left elbow is indeed bumping Truman out of the frame just as Andy snaps this masterpiece. And a quite young Cheryl Tiegs is vying for my attention as well. Actually she was only interested in my pinkie, hence the retracted position. She lost her balance and steadied herself with my tie just prior to falling out of the frame. Andy was pissed. You see, it was his last piece of film. He retired after this photo.

I do admit to a bit of curiosity here. This pic is private. There are exactly 70 people on this planet of 6+ billion that can see it. So, who's peeping but not commenting? I really don't care about the votes my friends. Just say something.
It's for you after all.

BTW- I'm not wearing a proper tux shirt because it was a wee bit tight.

Cheers, and long live The Factory.
