i find the left one charmingly funny.
(the torn canvas -probably not, but looking like- on top of the pier/mole-thingie really makes it, composition-wise)

^ it was pretty funny (and not planned) - the wind almost stole the newspaper and threw me into the river. and the thing on the top is some kind of an old notice. probably warning of strong sudden gusts of wind.
