^ Of course, it could have a meaning to you that is only a meaning to you. "Recycle beam" sounds to me like the kind of experience that changes you and forces you begin living again as a different person in a strange new world, You look grown up and experienced, but in many ways, you are a new-born again, trying to find out where you're meant to go and how. That makes sense to me. I think I was thinking more along the lines of suddenly realising that you'd been living your whole life like this; realising that you'd started out well but somehow you hadn't ever grown up and you still lacked many basic skills: But you'd been shrewd enough to hide these deficits from everyone and to find creative ways of getting from one situation to the next without blowing your cover. I feel like I walk around with invisible waterwings on - whether I need them all the time or not.
