Ah yes, looking closer I see the a one armed hug from the fella, it's changed the flavour of the cheese...
I know the Bata shoe factory very well, amazing place, yes, it's not far from here, I've not been there for a couple of years, I think it deserves a visit now the sun is getting low and you've mentioned it, a very forgotten building, that part the essex badlands is very beautiful ugly, socially as well as physically... my girlfriend's from surrey and talks though she's going to a foreign country when she visits southend... she ain't seen nothing!

^ and then there's canvey island...i went there once in summer, true martin parr territory and some amazing photo ops but got offered a smack in the mouth twice, once by a lovely lady with a union jack tattoo on her face and ran back to hackney where at least they just stab you for money and get it over with. anyway, i look forward to seeing the bataville pics. |

^ ta, mr tilbury. i think i understand. i was sitting in this coffee shop having just been to a Robert Frank exhibition and feeling all fired up. I'd focussed on the door and was ready to snap the next interesting person coming in when this happened. sugar sweet but irresistible, although if you look properly at them there's not much pash in that cuddle. she seems a bit keener than him, actually. incidentally, is wickford near tilbury? isn't the old bauhaus bata shoe factory and village there, a little bit of 1930s czechoslovakia in deepest essex? |
