^ Oh, now you know I only told him that to hurt his feelings and not because it was true or anything. I sort of had to, because he cringed away from my 195 as if it was something unclean and repeatedly said quite inexcusable things about pack film. But we're friends again now. I admitted that the new film was beautiful and gave him a picture and he vowed to try to make us all some pack film - one fine day. So all is weller than well.

This is so absurd, i want a copy blown up to cover my shole wall. Madame, this is better than the spanish letter form the Jehovas Witnesses (in Berlin!) i got yesterday.

Or so the saying goes. I physically wretch at the smell of baked beans. I can almost feel the phlegm rising as I look at this picture...

Beans are good.

^ See? Everyone has an opinion about beans. And this is, in fact, more a portrait of the beans than of the person, which is why I focussed on the beans and not the face. The face is merely there in order to highlight just what it is that beans mean to us. The same image with a packet of frozen peas would be useless, nonsensical. It wouldn't work. A frozen-pea portrait would require a very different pose and expression. Thank you for your input.

great portrait, must vote this as i am talking and thinking a lot about beans lately.

^ Thank you. It is gratifying to see people responding to the beans in this portrait. Beans are indeed very thought-provoking. I think they have a unique, personal place in the life of every individual, but they also have a kind of universal association - generally one of comforting familiarity, of soothing faith that all will come right in the end and of the possibility of nourishment in good times and bad. Beans are our mothers when they loved us best.
