Yeah klean-x! I appreciate your words, but I found out long ago my stuff doesn't really fly around here, but it's still a fun place to hang. Thanks a lot for your support and your vote though! Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky again someday... :]

oh, in my edition it says in the addendum: as one should learn to frame with the ratio the camera gives, one shouldn't be too restrictive when it comes to the borders of the material the image comes with. they might be intended, they might be not. and most of all, to hold a photo in hand is something different than seeing the whole scan on a screen. the eye is selective as well - so one should try to find the way to crop it (or not) in a way that comes closest to the in-hand-experience. »link

It seems I must have gotten a hold of one of the older guidebooks... :]

the hand is captivating.. the whole picture is, but the hand makes it. with the selective focus and the face half framed, i have to 'think away' the black borders for me, if i want to look longer at it, though.
this might be something personal, but at least it shows that it works, i'd say.

Yeah, I decided that the hand needed some attention in this one, so I'm glad you noticed. It's funny what a pain this one was to shoot too because I had to literally tape the lens in place after I got it focused, due to the weight of the lens that kept it rolling down its tracks.
Thanks too for the observation regarding the frame - I hadn't really noticed, but I would agree. It's all part of the deal though, one of those little rules we set for ourselves: no cropping, frame included, it says so in my little guide book: page 14, paragraph 2, lines 7 and 8.

You are doing wonderfully with this. And thank you. I can never get them in color, though.

Thank you, and I have also been really digging your results with the 100B (no thanks necessary for sure, you're on your own now :). Why no color though? It's a little less tricky than the 100B because it doesn't solarize, though a lot less "noisy" (which I really want at times though).
