I've seen that article from your link. I use bleach on a soft paper towel and rub or wipe off the black backing. The link you gave takes a lot longer than what I do. I think you have to use cold or very cold water when washing the negative "goop" off - otherwise the emulsion can come off. I also use what we call blue painters tape to hold the negative down on the glass. It is less sticky than the silver tape usually recommended in the tutorials.

Do you mean the picture showed is just the scanned recovered negative as it comes?

Hi and thanks for the question. The scanner automatically inverts the negative to positive and there is the option to adjust levels, color balance curves etc. In this case - if I remember right I jut let the scanner make the initial change. It might be fun to take the negative to a lab and see what the print would look like by traditional printing methods. I want to try my saved Fuji B&W negatives on a B&W enlarger I just got for free..!
