Because usually I hate city lights (enemies of the stars), but this doesn't look like the moon to me...

^ It was a street lamp coming from behind the trees. The fog helped diffuse it somewhat--and the tree helped, too. Definitely not the moon! I agree that city lights blot out far too much of the night sky. Each time I am in the country I am astonished at the number of stars and galaxies just waiting to be seen that are hidden behind the city light pollution. Thanks for the compliment!
