I love this.

The funny thing is I went into the back yard to take a picture of a bare tree (before spring arrives and ruins it with all those tiny leaves), but I couldn't get the tripod to tilt up at the angle I wanted, so I aborted the attempt. When I swung the tripod head back to level it was pointing at this exact scene. No kidding, I didn't even have to move the tripod at all, just refocused and shot.

Makes me feel sheepish for even taking credit for it, but there you go.

The limb makes it so special.
Iove it!

I agree that it adds balance. Without it...no good! Thanks for noticing.

Totally agree with nnini. And the focus that could be disturbing is rather soothing...
No story about the neighbors ?

No story about the neighbors at all. The title refers to a Robert Frost poem, and I used that on purpose because the poem makes the comment that building walls and fences and divisions between people is not always a good thing. We hardly know any of our neighbors. This photo is shot over our back fence, and I have no idea what the people who live in that house even look like. How sad!

I love the clean geometry of this. It's calming.

Thank you. I felt exactly the same way when I first saw the image, too. Not so much on the ground glass, but when combined with that expired Polaroid magic....
