Ah, the emulsion. Of course, once I saw the shadows, I knew it wasn't the sun, but was wondering about the moon. Great composition!

I love how all the textures play : the chunks of the bark, big and crisp, the ground, velvety, the misty background, the fragile tips of the branches, and the deep darkness of the mass in the upper right corner. [There is a pale disc low on the horizon, between the trees, is it the moon or the sun ?]
^
a late but belated thanks. Always a pleasure to read your thoughtful comments.
The pale disc is actually just something on the emulsion on the film...

it's what i like a lot about the baltic sea. besides of a good photo on it's own, which is also pleasant for people who've never been there, you captured that 'baltic' mood pretty well for me. thank you. I haven't seen if for a while, I miss it. it's a little like being there.
^
thanks again g.
nice that a photograph can evoke such connotations... it´s certainly one of the things i love about photography myself.

pretty nice.. they're standing directly at the sea (horizon behind)?
^
Thanks G. I would guess they´re about 40-50 m from the sea.
