Rosh Hashana - 1. Tishrei 5740
These polaroids were taken during Rosh Hashana, the jewish new year, in the year 1979 in Hainburg an der Donau in Niederösterreich.
Here, Louis Hirschmann and his old friend Richard Rosenstiel (both widowers) spent some days.
Long talks, long walks ... a little bit of chess.
They were walking along the Danube to recite Micah 7:18-19 as it should be done for Rosh Hashana:
"Who is a God like Thee, who pardons iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in unchanging love. He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities underfoot. Yes, Thou wilt cast all our sins into the depths of the sea."
