She wanted things to stay as they were. That's why they had to change.

She knew that from the very first moment she saw the light. It was very bright and a bit scary. She still had no idea what it was but it was approaching, that was what she was aware of. The best way to protect from it was to avoid looking and thinking about that. But it didn't stop that from coming nearer and nearer.
