Tell me about it. When I go around with my 600SE people stare at me like I'm from another planet. Meanwhile they finger on their all automatic, finger nail sized, digital cameras. And I'm the freak?!

One of a kind! I wish I would've brought my sx-70 to the drug test I had to take a month ago. My relief/life saver was a whole lot smaller though...
^
Ah well , size is not every thing, well that's what I tell her! I think if you had turned up with an SX-70 they would have known you were on drugs:)))))))) - or you should be:)))))) Great cameras but not appreciated by the digital clones who scale the world on how many pixels they have and now who seem to dominate the planet.

Simple and great!

One shape, three basic colours... I love it!

Hi, many thanks - it was a simple idea and so I'm pleased you get my drift as they say. Thanks again , Paul:)

So I'm not in the Inner Circle? Is that what you're saying? I'm devastated. I was sure I must be a member and now suddenly I'm just one of the dorks.

I trawl through the pictures here every day and leave all kinds of comments. Ultimately, you end up filtering out those pictures that capture your attention. You can't write something on each and every one in order to be charitable, welcoming or fair to everyone equally. It's not like commenting pictures on Polanoid is a full-time job or some form of social work. It's just fun, after all and quite franky, I refuse to let anyone tell me that it is anything else.

If someone has uploaded something, who I have struck up an online or offline friendship with - in which case, you can be sure that the person in question has probably devoted a lot of time and attention to the site and left a lot of helpful and/or amusing comments themselves - then, I will always leave a comment for them, perhaps sometimes out of a spirit of friendship, because I'm pleased to see them uploading something, because I appreciate their encouragement on my stuff, too, and just to maintain the contact we have. I think most other people do the same and I don't see what is so very wrong about that. A site is just a microcosm of the world, and you can't ever be pals with everyone. You like some people more than other people and the people who give more, get more.

But I'm one of the crowd pleasers, so maybe my opinion on this is warped. I just see it as a friendly, inspiring and very welcoming site (the odd entertaining Newsfeed punch-up aside).

Jesus, I'm just here for fun, non of that deep toss but I just think it's a shame more people don't comment or get comments good and bad, good to encourage and bad to offer help as to how to improve.Soon it will just become a photobox site for Polaroids, shame.I've just come home from seeing "Sunshine" movie and it's totally f..ked with my head, a beautiful, beautiful sci-fi movie :) so I rest my case, knowing as ever that these senseless moments "will be lost in time like tears in the rain" and in the end time will indeed be the judge of us all. Have a good night Esther ZS and keep up the good work.

Howard Hugues can approve about the milk bottle-life saver...

On an aesthetical point of view, that's indeed a nice shot, I agree!

^
Yes,he did like to fill a milk bottle or two! Many thanks, paul

Very impressive. Perhaps there'll be a "Solids" project here one day. I look forward to seeing your entry to that.
^
Maybe but I think even for me that would be too much, I would have to take a comic view on it and see what I could muster, tally ho ginger, Cheers Paul

I forgot to ask: was that all one very long wee, or did you have to top up?
^
That was one very long wee, after drinking about 1 litre of water in an hour, what I do for my art:)

Oh please explain. Was that aimed at me? Am I in the inner circle? It sounds positively menacing. Or am I maybe one of the fresh-faced young Inner Circle soldiers, not yet fully corrputed by the evil surrounding him, who still gives prisoners such as yourself cigarettes and chewing gum, but one day, he will be the one who shoots the half blind one with a gammy leg as he tries to escape.

"Verrecke Enländer Schweinehund!" Da-da-da-da-da.

(Twitch, twitch, gibber... Nnnngggh...)

"No NOOOO! Not old Chalky! Sir, they got Chalky. Chalky's a gonner. Gad, those chaps are such rotters!"

"Quiet, Private Forge. Keep digging with that teaspoon."

"Yessir! Sorrysir."

^
EEEEEEEEEEK No, not at all but you must have noticed so many great pictures by a variety of members go un-noticed, no comments, no votes. Yet sometimes a more established member will post some absolute dull picture and hey surprise surprise, loads of comments and often votes. It is always just what happens with any site such as this, no ones fault just life.
Anyway Chalky was a tosser and got what he deserved for having such a stiff upper lip. A teaspoon that's a luxury, I used to dig with my bare hands, finger tips worn to the bone, using my blood as cement to hold the roof of the tunnel up :)))))

I hate to be the first one to say it, but this is actually a very aesthetic shot, considering. (And I feel sure that at least one member of the jury will agree.)

Hi, many thanks, I think it has a "certain something" - the colour of the sky,the wee and the glass make for a fascinating mix. But alas on this site unless you are one of the "inner circle" that pats eachother on the back no matter how good or bad the work, there is no hope, Thanks for noticing this picture, Paul
