I believe the black bars just align the printer head so that its straight...kinda like aligning my HP printer at home...I prints a piece of paper, you scan it and the printer adjusts the head according to the scan...

so what you wanna do is scan it, use photoshop (or equiv) to adjust the lines to be on a slight angle, reprint it and cut it to shape...then we'd have some interesting prints...!

^ well I do have a roll of paper and it would be nice to print on a long roll... so yes...

Yeah I also thought of this, maybe if you change the bars (remove a few or something) the colours of the print will be different

Try it man! Like, cut off a little piece of blue and paste if over a black bar... and see what happens!
