another click on "all i haven't seen yet". (for you specifically - i love that feature)

first hit(this photo), for you.

(so, so sorry to be such a silent & rude arse____(fill in the blank if you desire)

i'm in the process of mending fences. this one really needs repair. (my bad - as the youngsters say) it's a good thing i skipped burger flipping or dishwashing for carpentry. i suppose it gives me a bit of an edge in the fence mending arena. (i do wash a dish like nobody's business though.) just ask my wife. ;)
/ps - i cook too/

speaking of fences - i've mended a couple (missed a wedding) (lately / recently) & your's is at the top of the list right now. wasn't the first (many are more persistant), & isn't the last. the last may take a while. being a recluse is such a bitch a times.

but - i do think of my friends daily & you are One of Them. I will go back to old email & have it jog my memory about our last conversation...

...You were going to school. Somewhere not in Manhattan. (sorry) Once again I had to resort to Google to correct my so totally f-ing lame spelling) Funny - google doesn't mind f-ing, but try to mis-spell Manhattan and it bites your ass. (I typed an "e" instead of "a")

Yes - I do suck at spelling. But not typing. ;-)

Anyway - these (this) butterfly(ies) are beautiful. I recoginise the plant from my front yard. We have the same bush / plant. (I'm not much of a botanist either) But those flowers are unmistakable.

Enough babbling, glad to make the first comment here & glad to talk again.

I'll keep this window open for as long as this computer stays online (could be weeks actually - Macs are tough) and I do look forward to talking with you again.

My best,
As always,
Oré

Oh, Oré. A letter in a comment box is such a wonderful thing, and twice wonderful when the sender is a part-time recluse. Hermit-ing, my sister and I called it, because we hermit-ed so frequently we needed a good word for it. Recluses and hermits understand each other, maybe especially when there are no words. Something there is that doesn't love a fence, so there are no fences to mend here. No offense taken, in short!

A carpenter- another clue to your secret occupations! I never knew. I did know about your talent for cookery, and I'm looking forward to further discussions about food... it's about time to get the slow-cooker out again. A slow-cooker seems the right tool for recluses and hermits.

I was in school this summer- a wonderful summer. The butterflies arrived later. I couldn't get enough of nature before I had to come back to Mannahatta- I'd plant a Butterfly Bush (Buddleia) in a bucket and leave my window open if not for all the pigeons. And lack of butterflies along this avenue.

Must get back to homework. I'm overjoyed that you are leaving a window open for a while~
