dear esther....i've test the same method and i like very much the results....
what do you think about an exchange of a pola?ok...i know it's difficult to separate itself from a pola, BUT i like very much this picture...Have a good day.

That's an interesting idea. Though I know what you mean. It can be hard to part with a Pola. Shall I take a look through some of yours and see if I feel drawn to one? Or would you prefer to offer me one you picked yourself?

wow. exactly how did you pull this off? I read the tip, but I'm still not completely understanding. Did you just paint over the picture? Its got such a watery, reflective quality to it. Very nice, dear. Such talent!!

Let's see if I can explain it better. Have you used the SX-70 Blend film before? Perhaps not, or you would have understood the tip. It's based on 600 chemicals. AYs you will know, the sensitivity of 600 film is too great for the SX-70 cameras so that you need to hold an ND filter over the lens to prevent over-exposure. Now, when they developed the SX-70 Blend, the clever Polanoid people had the idea of using an emulsion based on the 600 chemicals, but incorporating such a filter directly over the top of the whole film cartridge. I painted right onto that filter and let it dry, before insterting the cartridge into the camera. If you've only got 600 film, you could do something similar by taping some kind of transparant foil over the top of the cartridge (being careful not to block the little notch at the back left, which allows the pictures be be pushed out.

I hope this makes sense...

I really like this technique!!

would like to try... the effect is really splendid....

(give more power to the not very powerfull sx-70 blend film).

besos!!

Try it. It's easy enough. I used glass paints, because they are transparent. I found it best with a simple motif, lots of light and little shade.

The painted effect works very well on this shot.
Also, I miss living near the sea. :-/

The effect was too strong on most of the pictures, so this is the only one I'm uploading. It really only looked any good with simple silhouettes and plenty of light.
