So special. To begin with, *what a title* … what an *excellent* title. It has the low-key poetic ring of Jim Thompson or Raymond Chandler. I am putting this title in my head for safe keeping & future inspiration.

Yes, I fancy this image. It’s dynamic & cool, & really beautiful but with some grit, and in my opinion it’s pretty damn spiritual & soulful. Santa Fe. I am also reminded of some of my favorite Mediterranean noir authors & characters, from Italy and Greece and Marseilles and Corsica.

For me, you’ve nailed something with this. A certain type of person & place & time & quality of light and thought. Not a usual person, no. Somebody especially & unusually compelling, even if he wears a usual hat.
