Jenn Needs Only A Hint of Light
this was my second visit to jenn's house, and right from the get-go things were different. that aura of awkwardness that existed the first time, as we were little more than strangers, was gone. she said she only had a half hour, but we fell right into a rhythm, catching up, taking pictures, dancing around, taking pictures, gossiping, taking pictures, talking about movies, boys, new (good) bosses, taking pictures. think we ended up together for about an hour before she had to get back to work. i feel that comfortability made the shots better, and she liked it because she didn't have to dress up, got to chill in sweatpants and a t-shirt, because Sunday is the day of rest, man.

we shared "Hollywood" ; stories, those times we've been on the right side of preferential treatment. it's really just a matter of time, you live in LA long enough, you'll meet someone with some kind of pull, a director, a bar owner, a doorman, and eventually knowing them will have its upside. Not having to wait in line at a bar, getting a good table, getting into some night spot when you're waaay under the dress code. little things, really, but somehow a thrill because you are in front of a bunch of strangers, and for some reason they'll never figure out, you are getting something they're not. and that is fresh.
